Fundamentals of 1E Tachyon CMDB Connect
An overview of the fundamental concepts and terminology needed to understand what 1E Tachyon CMDB Connect will do for you. In most Organizations, CMDB implementations has been a challenge due to one or all the following reasons:
Multiple inputs
Lots of data and limited information available
Stale and duplicate data
Maintenance is an afterthought.
To mitigate these challenges, we have designed a federated CMDB with minimal data populated into standard CMDB tables. The federated structure called 1E Tachyon CMDB Connect and allows customers to retrieve real time end-user device information without permanently populating the CMDB tables.
ServiceNow integration with Tachyon
1E Tachyon CMDB Connect is an integration between the ServiceNow CMDB module and Tachyon. This integration between ServiceNow and Tachyon enables customers to utilize real-time device information provided by the CMDB database with the help of Tachyon.

Configuring 1E Tachyon CMDB Connect
You can easily install 1E Tachyon CMDB Connect from the ServiceNow App store. Once installed a 1E Tachyon CMDB Connect administrator can configure the 1E Tachyon CMDB Connect app by setting the Tachyon User Name parameter on the App Configuration page to the name of an existing Tachyon user. This user must have a minimum of 1E ITSM Connect Actioner permission in Tachyon to run the instructions associated with 1E Tachyon CMDB Connect.
The 1E Tachyon CMDB Connect administrator must also configure the 1E CMDB Connect tab and Related Lists to access end-user device details and associated real-time information.
Using 1E Tachyon CMDB Connect
After installing 1E Tachyon CMDB Connect from the ServiceNow App store, search for 1E Tachyon CMDB Connect in the application navigator. 1E Tachyon CMDB Connect equips service desk personnel with real time information from end-user devices. 1E Tachyon CMDB Connect inspects and investigates end-user devices in an enterprise and can schedule data syncs with ServiceNow and allowing you to view the details of triggered Tachyon instructions.
